~of the good ole days n one tight slap~

highlights of jhoom’s trip to Mumbai –
1. movie in a theatre with nish. the first in mumbai in last three years. yup believe it . he refuses me all the time , couldn’t say no to jhoom . heh hee .. ended up watchin 2 movies .

2. tequila shots. my first ever . jhoom taught me how to have them. very exciting. just one little thing - one shudnt hve them , right after a pinacolada. *gulp*
3. chopsticks. i finally managed to eat with them , without spattering or scattering. i am now somewhat of an expert, what with practicing for 4 days in a row eating magi , for dinner.
4. tattoos. jhoom wanted one . the rates were really high n further ma was flabbergasted at the idea , so she had to drop it. but she got a temporary one . i got one too , at the ankle. looked really neat. next time it is gonna be hair extensions.
5. shopping. and just that and lot of it.
***********
one tight slap :

the watchman in our society referred to me as "jaadi bai" ( plump woman ) n nish as "larka jo bullet chalata hai" ( boy who rides a bullet ) to someone the other day.*phatak on my cheek*
so it is dieting , yoga n walks everyday . i have to loose so much of weight to become a larki again for my larka husband, that it is just not funny.
but this is –

for a diet free , tequila filled weekend. cheers.

  :(

this cousin of mine, four years younger to me called me yesterday. she had gotten married this year in feb. she is pregnant. the child is due in jan . am so happy for you, S . i know you will be good mother.
but now i will be so lectured and gossiped and pitied by all the relatives. for past four years , every time someone gets pregnant whether it is friends, relatives or neighbors , we have to go thro these verbal labor pains . i swear am ready to puke now .
and what do you tell them that will satisfy them , make them back off ? aren’t there enough children already ? and anyways to have them should be the parents call , shouldn’t it ?
i am not going to have a child bcoz someone thinks it is about time . i have to take care of the child not them . so i will have one when i think i can . if they want one , they can have one themselves.

and jhoom left yesterday . and i religiously went into depressed mode.
fashion street , noodle bar and chopsticks , linking road , haji ali , that almost illegally tasty cream at the juice shop , the ever preferential pop tate’s , fab India, café mocha , war of the worlds , sarkar , tattoo , beach, in orbit , subway et all . we covered them all and some more. even though i was not well and bed ridden for full 2 days.
and then compared to that, it was so nauseatingly immobile on sunday , hence the miserable me. nish had a couple of meetings yesterday , so there was me and the tv , with nothing to watch . i was missing her so much.
so now there is another rule for staying-at-sanguine ‘s-flat – “no one will leave my house on a weekend. go on a weekday , so that i don’t miss you so much. i don’t care whether it suits your plans or not. it is too much to handle for me.“ *sniff*

  about visiting_relatives n exiting_rains

things have been chaotic for past one month now , both in office as well as home. work has been fantastically hectic and on top of it I have had relatives ( nish’s cousin , my maasi with kids , a friend from Delhi ) at my place every weekend . ask anumita , she knows my plight .we have been meaning to meet up for last 4 weeks. just haven’t been able to , and she lives walking distance from my house.*sheesh*
coming back to visiting relatives. they have to do it all . shopping , sight seeing et all in impossibly less time. hey holiday are supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating , not another reason to stress out and have a high BP. I mean I am so sure my maasi had it when she was “holidaying”.
and this is the last time when I am accompanying anyone for Mumbai darshan . they want to go , I will arrange for a taxi ( at a lower price, thank you very much ) , pack you nice lunch ( if you don’t want to eat out ) , give you a local number mobile ( so that you can tell me where you are ) and see you off . wave till you are out of my vision , just like in movies.

this has also made me realize how wonderful life is without children. kids are messy , rude , undisciplined , with no respect for anyone’s privacy and .. and well they are like children .
and teenage girls are worser than the brats. they are so silly , so obsessive about their looks and fashion , they starve n then count their calories ( yours too ), they use your (for years redundant) makeup n then trash it , and EVERY boy on tele is cute. everyone of them .. if I would have had to hear the word cute again just one more time , I will kill my boss. no no he isn’t responsible for the teenage girls , just that by killin him my miseries at work will lessen .you know how it goes “ one stone n two birds”

and this weekend … well jhoom is coming tomorrow. she is here for a week. but she is fine.
she doesn’t want to go for Mumbai darshan. thank god .

rains have just vanished from Mumbai . after the constant incredible showers for some 10 days, they have gone . heard they were seen in north . send them back, you guys ! we are not done with them yet.
Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive.
